SFURTI (Scheme of Funds to Regenerate Tribal Industries )
SFURTI PROJECT
Mahashakti Seva Kendra has established a strong presence in Jobat, located in the Alirajpur district, a predominantly tribal belt of Madhya Pradesh. Through the KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) project under the SFURTI (Scheme of Funds for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) scheme, the organization aims to empower and skill 200 tribal women in the traditional art of block printing using natural dyes on fabric.
This is a three-year initiative designed not only to provide technical skills but also to build entrepreneurial capabilities among women, enabling them to become economically independent and self-reliant. By combining traditional craftsmanship with sustainable practices, the project seeks to create long-term livelihood opportunities rooted in local resources and culture.
The establishment of a printing unit in Jobat is a strategic step towards curbing seasonal migration and reducing the exploitation of Adivasi families who are often forced to migrate to other states in search of work. By generating sustainable employment opportunities within their own villages, the initiative helps families earn a dignified livelihood locally, strengthens the rural economy, and preserves indigenous skills and traditions.
