Born out of the collective strength of women survivors of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and social unrest, Mahashakti Seva Kendra stands as a symbol of resilience and hope. We began as a small informal group and evolved into a recognized grassroots movement centered on women's economic empowerment through craft, training, and sustainable livelihood. We combine ancestral knowledge with modern training to create handmade products that carry stories of strength, survival, and cultural pride.

CEO Organization
Our artisans use traditional Alajarin techniques — a Mughal-era art form — to create eco-friendly textiles. We work exclusively with natural dyes made from herbs, minerals, and soil-friendly ingredients that are gentle on the skin and the environment.
This intricate, metallic-thread embroidery is brought to life by our skilled women artisans, breathing new life into a dying heritage craft once reserved for royalty.
We run intensive vocational programs that blend traditional skills with contemporary needs. Women are trained in areas such as:
This hands-on training not only builds skill but also creates confidence, independence, and long-term income opportunities.

All our programs are built by women, for women — ensuring deep cultural understanding and shared lived experience.

From production to packaging, we rely on natural materials, hand processes, and zero-waste practices that respect people and the planet.

Our community includes women from all backgrounds and belief systems, united by a common goal: empowerment through skill and solidarity.

Over the decades, our model has been recognized and supported by national institutions, social activists, and the broader development sector.
